C40 Dress Watch

East London based watch brand Uniform Wares, known for its simple, minimalist designs, is a relatively new player in the watch world. In 2009 its founders Mr Patrick Bek and Mr Oliver Fowles set out to create an alternative to the ubiquity of over-embellished statement watches. As a result, their designs are neither flashy or flamboyant, but focus on careful craftsmanship and classic design. Every watch is developed in London, utilizing modern materials and finishing processes. "In terms of good design being honest," Mr Fowles explains, "you don't embellish design with anything unnecessary."

Now, after two years in development, Uniform Wares has launched the elegant swiss-made C40, a contemporary take on the classic dress watch. The 40mm day-date face is available in brushed steel, polished steel or rose gold. Featuring a domed sapphire crystal lens and quartz movement, the slimline proportions allow a close fit and easy wear under shirt cuffs. The C40 is priced between £550 and £880 with five interchangeable straps, including Parisian Alligator and polished mesh from Milan.
