Creative collaboration

Acne Studios have teamed up with American sculptor Peter Schlesinger to create a capsule collection and retrospective book. Schlesinger, now in his late 60's, came to the fore as artist David Hockney's lover and muse. Working primarily in ceramics, his 28 years worth of work are celebrated in a limited edition book, with photographs by Eric Boman, Schlesinger's partner of 40 years. 

Exploring Schlesinger's extensive print archive, Acne Creative Director Jonny Johansson, has designed some wonderfully louche loungewear. This includes pyjamas shorts and dressing gowns, in a vibrant mix of reds, blues and oranges. Long time friends, Schlesinger and Johansson have worked on numerous projects, including several issues of Acne Paper. "The collaboration with Jonny has been inspiring on many levels," Schlesinger says. "It is creativity at its most generous." Johansson added, "Peter is honest in everything he does, creating work that is both brutal and fragile, tribal and sophisticated, historical and modern, all at the same time.
