BASS WEEJUN X MR PORTER
A classic reinvented
In 1936 Mr George Henry Bass put a stylish spin on a Norwegian farm shoe and called them Weejuns, creating the world's first penny loafer. Adopted by American prep-school students, they personalised theirs by sticking a coin in the diamond shaped cutout. Each pair is bench crafted and hand stitched, and over 75 years later they're still in demand. The penny loafer is a style that will never grow old, and whether dressing up or dressing down, they are a timeless modern classic.
Making stylish tweaks to a cultural icon this capsule collection from Mr Porter has been handmade in El Salvador from the highest quality materials. Unlined for comfort, the intricate stitching imparts an artisanal feel, and they'll work equally well with a shirt and chinos or jeans and a polo.
You can shop the collection on Mr Porter starting at £275. New styles will be added throughout the season.
