GANRYU BY COMME DES GARCONS

An offshoot of the Comme des Garçons fashion label, GANRYU was established in 2008 by Mr Fumito Ganryu. "I continue to try to think up combinations which do not exist in reality yet," Mr Ganryu said. "I combine opposing elements to create styles that work well." Having started as a pattern maker for Junya Watanabe Mr Ganryu continues to push a more youthful look. 

Taking recognizable styles, he reworks classic streetware for the Fall Winter 2015 "Odd basic" collection. Biker-style jackets, drop crotch selvedge and classic Comme des Garçons shirts combine to create unique silhouettes and blur the lines between "pop, avant-garde, and basic."
